Supported by the TEACCH methodology, which is an intervention and teaching protocol specifically designed for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which offers: visual supports, structured work systems and curricular adaptations that encourage the development of skills and abilities that promote the generalization of learning to other contexts of daily life, so that the person is able to respond to the demands of their environment according to their own abilities in interaction with their family and society.
We build an individualized interdisciplinary plan for our participants that has as a transversal axis to favor the acquisition and improvement of basic and instrumental skills for daily life in the search for a higher degree of personal autonomy and social integration. In the modality of personalized attention and group attention.
We do it with the main evidence-based interventions.
Speech Therapy, with training in augmentative and alternative communication.
Occupational Therapy, with sensory integration and stimulation in activities of daily living.
Psycho-pedagogy, aimed at strengthening and maintaining skills that improve cognitive performance and learning.
Psychology, with cognitive-behavioral approach directing the therapeutic processes in both participants and their families.
We perform physical training and pre-sports activities, to acquire and reinforce skills and abilities in the realization of basic and instrumental movements that also optimize the enjoyment and recreation they deserve. These activities are offered in individual and group modality, at different frequencies during the week.
In this area we encourage the occupation of free time in activities that stimulate the interests of young people and adults, as well as the instrumental skills of daily life and the stimulation of basic cognitive functions within cooperative actions.
We develop vocational skills through workshops such as Gardening, Wood Art, Packaging, Jewelry, Crafts and Handicrafts, for occupational training and development.
Through exposure to lucid and artistic experiences (cooking, music, art, computer, cultural events) we seek to strengthen their talents and enhance the multidisciplinary approach.
We generate spaces for exchange between families, caregivers, therapeutic team and specialist teachers for the benefit of our youth and adults: facilitating planned activities, including orientation meetings, feedback, support groups, as well as special social and recreational meetings in order to build networks that enhance the socio-adaptation of people with ASD at each stage of life, respecting their cognitive and affective profile.
At Autismo Dejando Huella we consider that health is a priority. Thus, understanding the complexity that can represent moving people with ASD to different centers for their consultations, we decided to create our own Community Medical Center in which both our population within the spectrum and members of the community in general, can receive diagnoses, treatments, and private consultations in one place.
With more than 12 specialties, attended by high level professionals in various areas of medicine and health, OscaryAnny Community Medical Center is the ideal place to treat anyone seeking quality medical care at an affordable value.
Our specialties: General Medicine, Neuropediatrics, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Psychiatry, Traumatology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Dental Technician, Pediatric Dentistry, Laboratory and Orthodontics.
The doors of the Medical Center are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we serve people within the spectrum as well as anyone who comes in for an appointment.
