Autismo Dejando Huella

Who are we?

Autismo Dejando Huella is a non-profit civil association of foundational type, created by parents and professionals who assumed the immense challenge of creating the first and only center in Venezuela for the attention of adults with moderate or severe autism. In the same way, we also receive children who, due to their level of affectation, it’s estimated that in their adulthood they will require a center with permanent assistance.

We were born as the answer to an overwhelming and recurrent question among parents and relatives: what will happen when we are no longer there? That is why we created Autismo Dejando Huella, a permanent integral psycho-educational care center with a special focus on adults in order to guarantee quality care, providing multiple activities and therapies to develop skills and abilities throughout the life of our students and their families.

Our dream is to complement this project with a residence to house them when their parents are temporarily or permanently unable to care for them.

Our Philosophy

Mission

To provide comprehensive care to adolescents and adults with moderate or severe autism, through innovative programs and methodologies, implemented by experienced professionals trained with high standards of training and quality. Likewise, to create alliances with educational centers in the country for research and training of professionals, technicians, interns and volunteers in the field of autism.

Vision

To become the leading organization in Venezuela, in the integral attention of adolescents and adults with moderate or severe autism, creating and developing the necessary conditions for their acceptance, inclusion, security and housing protection, in response to a possible family absence.

Values

Resilience: refers to the ability of our parents and representatives, ADH team, participants and community to live through adverse and traumatic situations, adapt to them, overcome them through learning and adaptation in order to emerge stronger.

Vocation: directly related to the desire and inclination of the entire team to fulfill the inspiring vision and mission of the Foundation. Vocation depends on each person’s personal interests, likes and abilities. Vocation is constant dedication with passion.

Empathy: The permanent behavior of identifying ourselves with the group of priority attention to which we owe ourselves, with solidarity, sharing their feelings and emotions.

Hope: all the commitment, responsibility and effort to fulfill a common purpose, with the real, optimistic and realistic expectation of achieving different and favorable results.

Respect: to recognize, accept, appreciate and value the qualities of all human beings. Recognize the value we have individually. Respect existing policies, standards and procedures, both at ADH and in society. Respect Diversity and Inclusion.

Social Responsibility: We have a commitment to our society. We are responsible for the role we have assumed, through our actions. Our concept of Responsibility is linked to our sustainability and sustainability over time.

Innovation: refers to continuous improvement, through agile implementation methodologies. It involves research, searching for something new to create, improve what already exists, solve or facilitate. It’s a continuous activity and covers all areas of the Foundation and human beings as such.

Teamwork: common management that facilitates the achievement of objectives in an aligned manner and fosters relationships of trust, respect, commitment and solidarity. It’s about putting the common interest above individual interest.
